Holistic Education in Nepal
| The
Nepal International Peace Center was conceived of with a group of
visionary Nepalis. In the late eighties, Chintamani Yogi, with the help of
many others, opened a private, alternative school in Kathmandu,
Hindu Vidya-Peeth, HVP. The
mission of HVP is to provide quality education in the atmosphere of
cooperation, goodwill, brotherhood, and community. They teach and model
respect for others showing that we can live in a peaceful and co-existent
world. They now have three schools; the original one in Kathmandu, one outside of the city in Thali, and one in the heart of the country in Dang. HVP enrolls students that are often disadvantaged, and they provide scholarships for them that come from both within and outside the country. |
