The Body in Dreams

 

Clothes - the individuals poses, attitudes to others and role in the world - look at colour and style

Over-dressed - in uniform or armour - protecting self, conforming too much

Under-dressed - refusing to play a role or conform

Naked - (could be any of the following - look at the situation, feelings and reaction of others) - feeling exposed, fear of being embarrassed, letting others see you as you are, wanting to attract attention, don’t care what others think, exposing natural instincts and sexuality

Getting undressed - losing inhibitions

Changing clothes - taking on a new role - look at style/owner of new clothes

Clothes belonging to someone - that person

Stained clothes - guilt, “clean up your act”

Body Parts - look for purpose of that part of the body and common expressions

Feet - progress, “feet on the ground”, “put foot in it”, “step forward”, “best foot forward”

Hands - doing things, “can handle it”, “back hander”, “back handed complement

Arms - reaching out, “harmless”

Legs - support, “a leg to stand on”, “legless”

Ears - hearing the truth, “an ear full”, “an ear for it”

Mouth - communication, sensuality, “mouth off”, “keep your mouth shut”

Eyes - willing to see, “apple of my eye”

Head/Hair - thoughts, thinking, “use your head”, “a head for it”, “go ahead”

Knee - flexibility, giving in, “knee-jerk reaction”, “weak knees”

Neck - flexibility - “stiff-necked attitude”, “pain in the neck”

Stomach - feelings, “butterflies in stomach”, “can’t stomach it”

Nose - intuition, “nosey”, “keep your nose clean”

Shoulder - responsibility, “shouldering your responsibilities”

Teeth - talking, digesting, “biting off more than you can chew”, “getting your teeth into it”

Little finger - manipulation, “wrapped around the little finger”
